The Brewers took a step forward in 2005 with a .500 season, the club hopes to build on the success in 2006 and beyond. To usher in the new era the Brewers looked to their past.
On Thursday evening the Winter Warm-Up event concluded with the Brewers fashion show that debuted the old Brewers uniforms with the "ball and glove" logo. Hosted at the .300 Club in Miller Park, Brewers announcer Bob Uecker mc'ed the event that featured past and present players showing off the retro logo and the new uniforms that are a blast from the past.
During each Sunday home game in 2006, 16 in all, the Brewers will feature the old pinstriped uniform with the "ball and glove" logo which was last used on uniforms in 1993.
The old "ball and glove" logo brings back memories of winning; from 1978-1993 the Brewers had a winning percentage of .517 and in the fall of 1982 made their only appearance in the World Series when they won the American League Pennant. On the verge of a winning season last year the new look make herald a return to the glory days of baseball in Milwaukee.
Additionally the club announced a specific season ticket 20-gmae package around the Retro Sundays which will feature players and entertainment from the past and the afore mentioned jerseys.
